Semester Meetings with Scholarship Students

Each semester our implementing partner CWCC meets with all our scholarship students to renew their scholarship agreements. Along with signing and thumb-printing their agreement, this meeting is an important opportunity for CWCC to educate the community on the Rights of a Child, particularly their Right to Education. Parents and caregivers gather at the schools to learn about how education is making a difference to their daughters’ lives, their community, and their country. Girls and parents alike are asked to present their beliefs about education, and can share why they think it is important.

During these meetings, monthly rice support is also distributed and students are fitted for their uniforms and shoes for the year. Students new to high school, with longer distances to travel, receive their bicycle and show off riding around the playground.
